Apple Management Chart

“Simplicity is the key to Apple’s organizational structure” writes Doris Burke in the Fortune 500 magazine (June 2011).  Have a look at the management chart below. For a multi-billion company, it surprisingly doesn’t have any of the usual level of complexity.

And it’s circular. Normally you might think this represents the collegiate and humanistic nature way a company works. Not so here however as Burke makes clear just how directorial Steve Jobs is.

But, nonetheless, the circular format may resonate with many primary schools looking to avoid the bureaucratic–looking top down management chart. Some call it a Salary Chart.
