Adam the Gardener

Whilst on holiday recently, I found this wonderful Adam the Gardener: a pictorial guide to each week’s work, published by the Sunday Express newspaper in 1946.

The second–hand shop owner gave me a detailed comparison of this 1946 version and a later 1950 one. Of course, I had let her know I was interested in such things.

The book itself is a delight. It fuses visual explanations with visual instructions beautifully.
