Why visual tools improve your thinking: Dave Gray

Our fourth and last argument takes us all the way to the sticky note. Dave Gray is the founder of Xplane, a leading information graphics company.

As a visual practioner, Gray advocates externalising thoughts as artefacts and placing them into a measured space— in exactly the same way as a chess player organises his pieces on a board. His artefacts are sticky notes and his measured space the wall.

“Having a business meeting without artefacts and meaningful space is like meeting blindfolded with your hands behind your back.”
